Check your tire pressure and keep your tires properly inflated.
Your tires are one of the most important part of your vehicle. It translates the power generated by the engine and resistance generated by the brakes into movement. Therefore, it is worth taking the time to check it once a month to ensure that they are properly inflated. Under and overinflated tires can lead to accidents due to blow-outs and changes in handling characteristics. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has estimated that tire pressure is a factor in roughly 5% of accidents and that 120 fatalities could have been prevented with properly inflated tires. Checking your tires is very easy! All you need is a gauge and the car manufacturers’s recommended pressure (located somewhere on the driver’s door/door jam). If your vehicle does not have a built in tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with actual pressure readings, then check out aftermarket ones like Nonda’s Smart Tire Pressure Monitor that you can easily add to any car.
